If you’re looking for a quick getaway that’s not too far away (for those of you in the Tristate area, at least), Deal checks off all the boxes for that summer destination.

Editor’s Note: Since Victoria is from Deal, she has some more spots to add that aren’t included in the Fleishigs feature: As far as where to eat, if you want a frozen treat, head toUrban Popsat 104 Brighton Avenue.Jsor.orgis always the best source for updated information on local kosher restaurants, but some noticeably missing from the list include Butcher’s Steakhouse and Down to Earth, both located in Allenhurst (note: check chalav Yisrael/chalav stam status of dairy restaurants at jsor.org). There’s no need to bring any food along if you’re staying in the Deal area for Shabbos. Besides for the strip of stores mentioned in the article (Kings Highway, Slices, Akimori, and Ouris), there’s plenty more on Norwood Avenue. Nahum Bakery is right next to Ouris (definitely a hot spot!) and Sarah’s Tent and Shalom are other groceries with takeout further south down Norwood. If you want to pick up salads to take to the beach, besides for Ouris, you can also get ‘em at Nicole’s Kitchen, on the southern side of Norwood.

Wow! I’m actually thinking of spending a day or two in Deal as a quick getaway (from Lakewood) so this is really helpful!
Anyone knows of good ideas of activities to do during the day?

There’s pier village, it’s basically shopping boardwalk and cool specialty food shops! There’s also asbury park boardwalk, and it has mini golfing a pinball museum and general beach shops… there’s also an escape the room somewhere in the Deal area… they’re all a pretty quick drive

I want to say west long branch… the frumest area in my opinion is Long branch- near park ave/brothers of Israel shuls…

They are all full in the summer with pretzut if you plan on going with men/boys

We live in deal all year round- it’s around 20-30 mins away from Lakewood and about an hour from Brooklyn. There’s pier village with a merry go round, ice skating rink, whole strip of stores and restaurants and hotels (that’s by the beach so beware with men) – there’s point pleasant amusem*nt park (also off a beach- think smaller scale great adventure vibes), there’s a cute place called ‘just play’ which is great for young kids (book a reservation online first), there’s a bunch of stores and restaurants in allenhurst, Norwood… a jus by Julie just opened up near the chabad on ocean Ave! Deal is so amazing and fun- at the same time the summer can get a little…. Summery so beware when going to any beach town with men!
